The speaker introduces a rare innate malformation: Persistance of the permeability of the urachus, having as sole basic symptom the discharge of urine from the umbilicus. This malformation can be observed either in the absence of any obstruction of the normal discharge of the urine, or combined with other interesting lesions of the urine channels. The phimosis is in most cases, in the old age, a prostatic hypertrophia. The permeability of the urachus can be total or even initially partial, later becoming total due to an intervening anatomical obstacle. The speaker discusses the diagnosis and the treatment of the case in infants and adults.
