Abstract
Authors investigated the renal circulation with X-ray angiographic and Sapirstein’s Rb-isotope methods after administration of hexadimethrine bromide. They established that extensive necrosis occurs in the ascending limbs of the Henle-loops. One to four hours following the administration of the compound the renal arteries are narrower, or only fill in patches. Blood pressure decreases transitorily and also to a small extent cardiac output. In the 2–4 hours groups the renal fraction of the minute volume, as well as renal blood flow are diminished. 24 h after the injection of the hexadimethrine bromide the renal blood flow almost returns toward normal level. The possible significance of renal circulatory changes in the genesis of the necrosis found in the ascending limbs of Henle loops is discussed.
