Eine Methode zur Austestung der Empfindlichkeit von Urotheltumoren auf die lokale Chemotherapie mit Thio-Tepa auf der Basis einer Beurteilung morphologischer Veränderungen in Tumorzellen im Harnsediment wird vorgestellt. Das Auftreten regressiver Veränderungen in den Tumorzellen 48 h nach der ersten Thio-Tepa-Instillation (60 mg Thio-Tepa, gelöst in 60 ml phosphatgepufferter isotoner NaCl-Lösung) weist auf eine Empfindlichkeit des Tumorgewebes hin. Zwischen dem Ausmass der degenerativen Zellveränderungen nach der 1. Instillation und dem Ergebnis der Therapie nach 12 Thio-Tepa-Instillationen konnte eine signifikante Korrelation fest-gestellt werden. Die Beurteilung der Morphologie der Tumorzellen im Harnsediment ermöglicht die Prüfung des zytostatischen Effektes auf das zu behandelnde Tumor-gewebe.
