Eine neue Anwendungsmöglichkeit der hypothermen Perfusion bei Nierenoperationen wird beschrieben. Die Methode besteht in der Einführung von Polyäthylen-kathetern in die Nierenarterie und Nierenvene und der selektiven Perfusion der Niere mit unterkühlter Spülflüssigkeit. Bei chirurgischen Eingriffen am Nierenparenchym und bei operativer Beseitigung von Nierenarterienstenosen oder Aneurysmen kann dadurch der intraoperative Blut-verlust wesentlich verringert werden und eine langdauernde Abklemmung des Nieren-stiels ohne erhöhte Anoxiegefahr durchgeführt werden. Durch kurzdauernde Injektion von Farbstoff (z.B. Indigokarmin, Methylenblau) in das Perfusionssystem werden eröffnete Gefässe dargestellt und die Ligatur derselben wird erleichtert.
