Es wird über die biologischen Grundlagen der Kryochirurgie sowie über die einem solchen Eingriff folgenden pathologisch-histologischen Veränderungen bei adenomatöser sogenannter Prostatahypertrophie und beim Prostatakarzmom des Menschen an Hand von 37 Fallen berichtet. Die Ergebnisse bei adenomatöser Prostatahypertrophie erweisen sich als ermutigender als die beim Prostatakarzmom, bei dem sich die Methode bis jetzt vorzugsweise als eine Palliativmassnahme erweist.
